SuperSport Introduces Pop-Up Channels Ahead of 2018 Fifa World Cup
SuperSport, Africa’s leading sports broadcaster, will launch the build-up to the 2018 Fifa World Cup in earnest this month by starting a 24-hour pop-up channel dedicated to international football showpiece.
The new channel, "SuperSport 13", will start broadcasting a compendium of content including excellent legacy footage, documentaries, highlights, Fifa films, classic matches and interviews on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.
The channel will also showcase warm-up matches of the World Cup-bound nations so that fans all over the world can get fired up for the game which begins in the middle of June.
The 64-World Cup matches at the 2018 FIFA World Cup will be available for subscribers on all DStv packages, and those GOtv Max and 'Plus' packages. All GOtv Value customers will be able to watch quite some games, while GOtv Lite customers also get to enjoy a select number of fixtures available on the free-to-air channels.
The quest by African nations to conquer the global football showpiece will be led by five countries in the continent namely; Senegal, Nigeria, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco. These nations secured a spot for themselves after getting to the top of their respective groups within the continent.
SuperSport is owned by Africa's Pay-TV giant - MultiChoice, broadcasting on the DStv satellite platform.
