Supersport Agrees For SABC To Broadcast Rugby Tournaments Free-Of-Charge

Cash-strapped South Africa Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has secured a concession from DStv's Supersport that will allow them to broadcast SA Rugby tournament on SABC radio stations.

According to Mr Gideon Khobane, the Chief Executive Officer of SuperSport, they decided to concede to SABC the radio broadcast rights for the tournament following a request from SA Rugby.

The arrangement was put in place to allow SA Rugby's tournaments the most extensive coverage possible, considering the importance of Radio as a critical platform.

Mr Mark Alexander, SA Rugby's President, has shown his gratitude to Supersport for allowing SABC to air the tournament free of charge, saying that “on behalf of all our rugby followers and SA Rugby, I’d like to thank SuperSport for this significant gesture.
