Nigeria: University of Lagos Television (UNILAG TV) To Start Operations Next Month

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has reported that the newly licensed University of Lagos Television (UNILAG TV) will start on-air operation before the end of February 2018.

According to the University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the station - which have, it is reported, received a grant of US 5million Dollars from the World Bank - is ready to start broadcasting world-class content and programmes across Nigeria, and indeed Africa.

When it starts to broadcast, UNILAG TV could enter the records book as the first campus TV station in Nigeria.

With the funding it has received from the World Bank, the promoters of the station said they had acquired state-of-the-art broadcast equipment and studios. They have also enlisted the best team from within and outside the country to help run the operations.

UNILAG TV will be on the DStv platform when it starts to operate.
