Canal+ Afrique And Kwese Sports Secures France's "Ligue 1" Broadcast Rights

The French "Ligue 1"  have agreed on broadcast rights deals for the sub-Sahara Africa region for the next six season, starting from 2018/2019 until 2023/24.

The broadcast rights were awarded to Canal+ Afrique who will hold the rights to show the games in the French-speaking region of Africa. Kwese Sports will cover the English and Portuguese-speaking areas of Africa.

According to those close to the matter, the rights were brokered and sold by BeIn Media Group and also is inclusive of sports properties such as "Ligue 2", Trophée des Champions, and of course "Coupe de la Ligue".

The current broadcasting rights are owned by Canal+ and Fox Sports for the French and English speaking countries respectively.
