Econet Media’s Kwese And Canal+ In Sports Broadcast Rights Marriage

Econet Media’s Kwese announces that it has signed broadcasting rights deal with Canal Plus, the French top cable TV channel.

Econet Media has been accredited NBA’s official broadcaster for Sub-Saharan Africa and has won the rights to broadcast NBA content across TV, the Internet and mobile platforms including its Kwesé Sports Network.

This partnership has allowed French speaking countries unbridled access to NBA. The broadcasting rights cover French-speaking African countries like Mauritius and Madagascar. The games will air on Sport 3 channel for the next three seasons. A weekly magazine programme called “Canal NBA” will supplement the coverage.  Also, exclusive rights to the “NBA TV” channel was acquired by Kwese. This channel which broadcasts in English is now available as part of the selected Canal+ packages.
