Euronews And Ivorian's RTI Accuse Senegalese Excaf Telecom Group Of Content Piracy

France's Euronews and Ivory Coast's Radio Télévision Ivoirienne (owners of the RTI1 and RTI2 channels) have reportedly issued a formal cease notice to the Senegalese firm Excaf Telecom Group, asking it to stop rebroadcasting their content without official authorisation.

According to senegaldirect.com (a the local news website) both Euronews and RTI are of the opinion that Excaf on was offering their content on its TNT and MMDS platforms without approval and that this is "piracy".

It has also been reported that this is not the first time that Excaf Telecoms Group will be in the frame for piracy. In June 2016, the National Audiovisual Regulatory Council (CNRA) of Senegal was allegedly involved in investigating Excaf Telecom following complaints from Bein Media, TF1 Distribution and Turner Broadcasting System.
