Is Naspers Looking At Selling 'Multichoice Africa' To MTN?
As we understood it, the potential sale will not include MultiChoice South Africa, which is still considers "very profitable". The thinking behind the possible selling of Multichoice Africa is strategic, according to the people who are close to the matter. Also, the continuing sluggish market conditions across Africa is not helping.
Still, on the issue, the South Africa's industry news website, My Broadband is reporting that should there indeed be a sale, the possible purchaser will be MTN. Both companies are already in some form of collaboration with Multichoice supplying video content to MTN. If you take this with all the recent rejig going on within the MTN video business; industry experts are putting their bet on an MTN take over should Naspers exit.
Both companies would not comment on any sale deal for now.
