TV White Spaces - SA Regulator Publishes Draft Framework And Position Paper

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) have recently published a draft regulation and position paper on the use of TV White Spaces in the country.

TV white spaces technology can help provide 'low-cost' broadband internet by using gaps that exist in terrestrial TV broadcast spectrum. According to ICASA, the framework that has been published will enable a strong uptake of the technology to drive affordable broadband service in South Africa.
