The Pan-African telecoms group Liquid Telecom is set to roll out the very first 5G wholesale roaming service in South Africa.

The company said this latest fifth generation of internet connectivity would enable wholesale operators to create innovative and fast digital services for their customers.
The service will be made available from early 2020 in all of South Africa’s major cities.

Liquid Telecom added that the 5G wholesale network would help accelerate the era of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) in South Africa.

Nic Rudnick, Liquid Telecom’s Group CEO said that the breakthrough 5G wholesale service would create innovation in South Africa’s society and industry.
He said that this launch would be a milestone moment for Liquid Telecom South Africa.

Rudnick added that 5G would facilitate real-time remote collaboration, improve business efficiency and also lower costs – ultimately promoting growth in South Africa’s economy.
The launch of this 5G wholesale roaming service is yet another step in Liquid Telecom’s journey to build Africa’s digital future, according to the CEO.

The organisation is said to have been investing heavily across the continent where it runs Africa’s largest independent fibre network, which is almost 70 000km in length.
