Botswana: Dstv Audio Bouquet Adds Yarona FM, Duma FM

DStv in Botswana has kicked off the new year with yet another milestone in the efforts towards having more local content on its platform.
Since the beginning of January 2020, DStv subscribers have been able to enjoy two of Botswana’s top local radio stations on the DMX Audio Bouquet –Yarona FM and Duma FM.

Katlego Arnone, MultiChoice Botswana’s Managing Director, said in an interview that MultiChoice is proud to announce the launch of two local radio stations onto its platform.
She said that as a business, the pay-TV operator is committed to growing with Botswana and fully supporting its creative industry.

Arnone added that MultiChoice is giving not only the local market but also the rest of the region access to the local talent in Botswana’s music industry.
Yarona FM is Botswana’s first private youth radio station.

The station’s brand is high-energy, vibrant and identifies itself with the newest music, which is reflected in its positioning statement “Live The Music”.

Duma FM, on the other hand, is an adult contemporary radio station with national coverage of more than 60% of the country.
Arnone said that the station has the mandate to keep listeners engaged through talk and music, which is why Duma FM has a 50/50 music/talk ratio.

Yarona FM and Duma FM are now available to Botswana’s DStv subscribers on the channels 917 and 919, respectively.
