MTN Group Announces Changes In Leadership
The MTN Group has announced that Gordian Kyomukama has been placed as the new CEO of MTN South Sudan CEO as from 21 January 2020.
The operator released a statement describing Gordian as an experienced telecoms executive, with nearly 30 years of experience in the sector, most of which have been within the ranks of MTN.
MTN said that Kyomukama began his journey in MTN Uganda as a pivotal part of the Opco’s pioneer team and has also worked in the Ivory Coast, Rwanda and Cameroon in the course of his tenure. Before returning to Uganda, he was the Chief Technology and Information Officer (CTIO) at MTN Liberia.
Commenting on Gordian’s appointment, the MTN Group’s CEO, Rob Shuter, congratulated Gordian on his new role and also thanked Lily Zondo, who had been holding the fort as the acting CEO of the South Sudan operations over the past few months. He added that Lily would resume her role as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of MTN South Sudan with immediate effect.
MTN also announced that the CEO of MTN Cameroon, Hendrik Kasteel, would be leaving the company at the end of March, due to his personal reasons.
The company said that Kasteel would be serving out his notice over the next two months and that a successor would be announced when everything is finalised.
