Sudan: Sudatel Welcomes New CEO
On Friday, 29 November 2019, Sudatel revealed that it had appointed Sami Yousif Mohamed as the telco’s new CEO and Group President – effective immediately. The announcement comes as the telecoms company prepares to invest significantly in its operations inside Sudan and in West African countries.
Sudatel offers both mobile and fixed services to residents, businesses and ISPs across West and North Africa, in addition to providing wholesale services to international carriers.
The company is also continuously expanding an extensive fibre-optic network. Satellite networks and wireless broadband complement the fibre by covering areas where fibre has not yet been installed.
Yousif has worked at Sudatel since 2013 and was most recently in the role of Executive VP for Financial and Administrative Affairs of the Group. Prior to that, he was the Director of Finance at The Arab Investment Company, which is owned by the various Governments of 14 Arab states.
Yousif said that he is honoured and delighted to be leading a company that he greatly admires. He added that he is already working on a five-year plan for Sudatel, which would enable the firm to grow steadily and meet all the demands of businesses and consumers across its footprint.
