Airtel Africa Announces New Regional Director For East Africa
The telecommunications service provider, Airtel Africa, has announced that it has appointed Ian Ferrao as the new Regional Director of its East Africa division.
According to Airtel Africa, Ian Ferrao has more than 12 years of experience in senior management roles in Africa’s telecommunications space.
Before joining Airtel Africa, Ferrao was the CEO of Vodacom Tanzania, as well as the CEO at Vodacom Lesotho and the Chief Commercial Officer at Vodacom Business Africa.
Ferrao holds a First Class Honors Degree in BSc Management Sciences from the prestigious Warwick Business School.
Airtel Africa’s CEO, Raghunath Mandava, said that the company is excited to welcome Ian as the Regional Director for East Africa, which includes Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Rwanda and Zambia. Mandava added that Ferrao brings with him a wealth of telecommunications and mobile money experience and will be an asset to Airtel Africa.
Airtel Africa has been one of the largest telecommunications and mobile services providers with a presence in 14 countries across Africa. The company focuses mainly on Central Africa, West Africa and East Africa.
Airtel says that it offers an integrated selection of telecommunications solutions to its customers, which includes data and mobile voice services, as well as mobile money services that are available both nationally and internationally.
