MTN Reshuffles Management In Africa Operations
MTN has announced that the CEO of MTN Zambia Philip van Dalsen will be vacating his position at the end of September.
The company released a statement saying that Philip joined MTN in 2012 as the CEO of MTN Cyprus. In January 2019, he moved to MTN Zambia in the same role.
According to MTN, The CEO of MTN Rwanda, Bart Hofker will take over the role from van Dalsen as from October.
The mobile giant said that Hofker is a senior commercial telecom executive with years of experience in fixed, mobile and integrated businesses.
MTN also revealed that Mitwa Kaemba Ng’ ambi has been appointed as the incoming CEO of MTN Rwanda.
Ng’ ambi, is a natural leader with a career that spans more than ten years in telecoms and she returns to MTN where she was previously the Chief Marketing Officer at MTN Benin and also held several other roles at MTN Zambia.
Ng’ ambi now joins MTN from Airtel Tigo Ghana, where she was the chief executive officer.
The operator also announced that the CEO of MTN Cote d’Ivoire Freddy Tchala would be leaving the company at the end of September.
Tchala has worked at MTN for 17 years and has had a great journey with the company, according to MTN. After leaving MTN Cameroon, he became the chief executive officer in Guinea Conakry and Congo Brazzaville, before finally joining MTN Cote d’Ivoire four years ago.
MTN said it would announce the appointment of Tchala’s successor “in due course.”
