Vodacom Tanzania To Roll Out A Regional First
Vodacom Tanzania and the South African mobile solution provider Flickswitch have revealed that they are launching Vodacom SIM Manager, a mobile connectivity management platform for businesses looking to offer mobility and IOT services to their customers using the Vodacom Tanzania network.
The companies say that the service is the first of its kind in Tanzania.
Arjun Dhillon, the Enterprise Business Unit Director for Vodacom Tanzania, said that Vodacom firmly believes that the launch of this unique service will stimulate support and innovation for both SMEs and large corporates with essential business tools to address their mobile needs. He added that the smart SIM Manager Service would ensure that company SIMs are loaded with data as they need them. This, according to Dhillon, would reduce the cost of managing device SIM cards and ensure operational uptime.
According to Vodacom, Africa's device connectivity and IoT market is positioned for rapid growth in many sectors, not only in the traditional areas such as point of sale, mobile workforces and fleet management but also in new areas like smart security, advanced agriculture and utility metering.
Vodacom Tanzania believes IoT technology and the areas it will influence all need tools to manage the large numbers of SIM cards more effectively.
Kees Snijders, the Managing Director of Flickswitch Group, said that Flickswitch is delighted to continue the expansion of its enterprise self-service platform in this new collaboration with Vodacom.
