DStv And SuperSport To Roll Out Exclusive Rugby Channel
DStv and SuperSport have announced the rollout of a new 24-hour channel for the entire duration of the 2019 Rugby World Cup, which will feature six magazine shows.
The list of SuperSport analysts for the channel includes some of the most recognised names in rugby, including a few World Cup winners.
International guests who will be featured will also include the South African-born French international Scott Spedding and England’s Jeremy Guscott.
The World Cup winner Nehe Milner-Skudder from New Zealand, Jacques Burger of Namibia, Joe Rokocoko and John Plumtree will also make guest appearances on the channel.
South African guest presenters and rugby analysts will include the World Cup winner Schalk Burger, Deon Davids and former Springbok coach Nick Mallett.
SuperSport 1 has announced that it will offer 24-hour World Cup content from the 20th September, the much-anticipated opening day of the tournament.
Before then, starting from today, 9th to 19th September, the channel will show historical content such as documentaries, highlights and player profiles. During this period, SuperSport 1 will be made temporarily available for all DStv viewers all the way down to Access subscribers.
Springbok matches, kicking off with the opener against the All Blacks on 21st September, will have high-energy build-ups of one-and-a-half-hour. The build-ups for other games will be one hour long.
The tournament’s opening ceremony will be aired on 20th September.
