Econet Joins Forces With American Startup For Artificial Intelligence Solutions
Zimbabwe’s Econet Global Group has announced their partnership with the American startup, Atlas AI. The announcement was made by Strive Masiyiwa, Econet’s Executive Chairman and Founder and Executive Chairman, recently in Accra, Ghana.
Masiyiwa said that the important partnership would strengthen Econet’s AI capabilities going forward; and would ultimately help the business and several other partners in the digital ecosystem, deliver the benefits of the 4IR (the Forth Industrial Revolution) to Africa.
The CEO of Atlas AI, Victoria Coleman gave a statement on the newly-formed collaboration saying that Atlas AI is excited to partner with Econet because both the organisations are aligned in their strategic goals for sustainable development in Africa and other emerging markets.
Atlas AI is a tech startup in Silicon Valley that deals with the scarcity of market intelligence and economic data in developing countries. The company provides high-resolution datasets on agricultural productivity and economic well-being across South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Econet’s motivation for getting into this partnership, according to Strive Masiyiwa, is to make use of Atlas AI’s technology to better understand the critical role that the group plays in various sectors such as financial services.
