StarTimes Secures Rights To Broadcast Euro 2020 Qualifiers

The pay-TV operator StarTimes has announced that it has acquired the UEFA National Team Football broadcasting rights for 2019 and 2022.
The company has secured transmission rights to broadcast the games in all countries across sub-Saharan Africa, excluding South Africa.

The football events include UEFA EURO 2020 which will take place from the 12th of June to the 12th of July next year, as well as the Qualifiers to the EURO 2020, UEFA Nations League 2020/21 and also the European Qualifiers to FIFA World Cup 2022. National friendlies are included in the contract.

The Sports Director at StarTimes, Shi Maochu, commented that StarTimes is proud to have acquired UEFA National Team Football rights. He said that the Euro 2020 would feature the best teams in the world, including the finalists of the last World Cup, Croatia and France.

StarTimes will air the European Qualifiers on its five existing sports channels, as well as on its StarTimes ON streaming application, live and in HD across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Apart from all the national teams, StarTimes is broadcasting numerous club football tournaments such as UEFA Europa League, Bundesliga, Coppa Italia and French Ligue 1. 

StarTimes is also the exclusive broadcaster for the FIBA World Cup China 2019 in Sub-Saharan Africa.
