Research Company Releases List Of Kenya’s Highest Ranking TV And Radio Stations
The African-based research firm gathered the data from a 2.09 million database across different areas in Nairobi and went on to rank the various stations.
NRG radio was rated as the station with the broadest reach in Nairobi in the past week, having secured 10.1% of the market closely followed by Kiss FM’s 9.5%, with Classic FM completing the top 3 with a reach of 8.9%.
Radio Jambo, Mulembe FM and Ingo FM ended up with the least reach in Nairobi, with 2.2%, 2.2% and 2.3% respectively.
Radio Maisha bagged the number 4 spot, while Homeboyz and Citizen Radio were ranked in 8th and 9th place respectively.
When it came to TV viewership, TIFA’s research showed that Citizen TV had the most extensive reach with a 17% share of the Kenyan market, with KTN home and NTV securing second and third place with 12% and 10% respectively.
The TV station in fourth place was Inooro TV, with Kiss TV, Switch TV and KTN Burudani, forming the bottom 3 in Nairobi, with all of them only reaching 2% of the audience each.
TIFA based its data on a total of 29 radio stations and 19 TV stations that are currently broadcasting all across the Kenyan capital.
