Popular South African Series Yizo Yizo Now Available On Viu Streaming Service

Viu, an entertainment video streaming service, has rolled out popular series Yizo Yizo as part of its offering on South African screens.

In its license deal with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Viu was granted exclusive digital rights to a generous selection of South Africa’s favourite shows from the national broadcaster’s catalogue, including the extremely popular Yizo Yizo, and other series such as The Docket, Emoyeni and Diamond City.

The revolutionary, high-energy series in South Africa’s entertainment history, Yizo Yizo provides a look into the lives of the members of a township community in Daveyton, and the fictional, dysfunctional Supatsela High School.

Twenty years since it was first aired on South African screens, Yizo Yizo’s influence on local stories and content models is undeniable.

Ryan Solovei, the Country Manager of Viu South Africa, stated, that Yizo Yizo’s arrival on Viu shows the app’s commitment to delivering the best programs to South Africans on the digital on-demand platform.

Solovei added that Viu is dedicated to broadening access to South Africa’s most-loved local content, and in the near future, co-produce original local content for South African viewers.

All three seasons of Yizo Yizo will be made available as part of Viu’s Premium offering, with a new season rolled out every month from April.

Viu’s streaming service can be accessed for free on Google Play and the App Store.
