Discovery Brings Two New Channels To Startimes Audiences Across Africa

Discovery, Inc. has announced the expansion of its Real Time channel, across Africa. The female general entertainment channel was launched on StarTimes on the 15th of April 2019.
Real Time joins Discovery Family which has been on the StarTimes platform since December 2018.

This announcement comes after Discovery’s renewal with StarTimes earlier this year, which included the launch of Real Time and Discovery Family as new channels for StarTimes subscribers, to join the long-standing and popular Discovery channel, true-crime network, Investigation Discovery (ID).

The Vice President & General Manager for Discovery in Africa and the Middle East, Amanda Turnbull said that Discovery is always looking for ways to deliver its globally-loved content and brands to brand new audiences.

She declared that launching Real Time and Discovery Family on the StarTimes platform means Discovery now offer their viewers a mix of entertaining content for the entire family – from exciting lifestyle programming on Real Time, compelling real-life storytelling on ID and fun edutainment on Discovery Family.

The Deputy GM of the Media Division at StartTimes, Lily Meng said that StarTimes is excited to include more channels from a global brand. She added that these new options would provide StarTimes subscribers with an exciting original mix of content which will allow subscribers more choice and value.
