Amazon Prime To Offer African Content To International VOD Audiences

Amazon Prime has revealed that it will be offering African content to international audiences on its video-on-demand platform.

Long ago, international audiences battled to get access to African content, but the rebirth of African cinema and the rapid emergence of producers and directors in the African continent has resulted in the global rise of African content.

Netflix got the ball rolling by listing African content like Lionheart, Chief Daddy, Wedding Party and many other African films.
Amazon Prime is now following suit by also adding Africa to its list of content offerings.

Housewives and Girlfriends, an exciting television series produced by Rhoda Wilson Production within the Nollywood-UK circuit will be showing soon on Amazon Prime. The series was formerly a success on DStv’s Africa Magic and on a list of other channels within the African Region and diaspora. It also bagged an award at the UK’s BEFFTA.

Housewives and Girlfriends will reach millions of more viewers on Amazon Prime.

The Producer of the series, Rhoda Wilson said that bringing the show to Amazon Prime’s international viewers was a good call. She declared that she would be thrilled if lovers of cinema took advantage of this opportunity to enjoy original African content, on the go.

Wilson added that she wanted more people to log into Amazon Prime from anywhere and at any time, to enjoy the entertainment delivered by the cast of Housewives and Girlfriends.
