MultiChoice Talent Factory Unveils Pan-African Networking Portal Designed For Young Film Makers

The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF), MultiChoice Africa’s leading Pan-African shared-value initiative has announced the rollout of the MTF Portal.

The portal will be the third touchpoint of the initiative after the launch of the MTF Academies, a 12-month film training programme meant to upskill the next generation of upcoming young film creatives.

The new interactive online portal is aimed at connecting Africa’s industry creatives and combining pan-African talent and opportunities together in one space. The digital portal will enable filmmakers across Africa to network, showcase their work and find talent. Access to the portal will be achieved through registration on the MTF website which will work as a source of industry news, supported by MultiChoice’s long-standing role of being Africa’s number 1 storyteller.

Users of the portal will also have the option to network with each other, connect and form partnerships. The MTF Portal will also supply information on the master-classes and MTF Academies.

The MTF Portal is part of the investment that MultiChoice has made to improve the quality and production of storytelling and local content across the continent.

The MTF Portal will be useful to both seasoned professionals and upcoming talent in Africa’s TV and film industry.

Cheryl Uys-Allie, the Director of the MultiChoice Talent Factory, said that with the increase in cross-continental coverage filmmakers now have a need for networks beyond their own borders. She said that the Portal is designed for mobile and therefore, will be easily accessible to any filmmaker anywhere on the globe.

The MultiChoice Group Executive for Corporate Affairs, Joe Heshu noted that rolling out an online space to connect Africa’s creative industries is a natural progression for the MultiChoice Group.
