Orange Egypt And Telecom Egypt Sign New Bitstream Services Deal

The Egyptian fixed-line operator Telecom Egypt (TE) has announced that it has recently signed a new contract related to bitstream access services with Orange Egypt.

In an official press release about the development, it was mentioned that under the new deal Orange would be the very first alternative operator in Egypt that is allowed to provide its subscribers with higher-speed services, as the agreement would enable the telecoms company to offer connectivity over both TE’s VDSL networks  as well as fibre-to-the-home (FTTH).

Telecom Egypt’s CEO and Managing Director, Adel Hamed said that the signing of these deals with Orange supports Telecom Egypt’s long-term relationship with the company as a significant and strategic partner across many dimensions of TE’s services.
He added that the new bitstream framework was proof of Telecom Egypt’s continuous effort to offer the most premium quality services to the local market and enables TE to monetise its steadily growing infrastructure investments.

Meanwhile, Orange Egypt’s Chief Executive, Yasser Shaker added that he was thrilled about the new collaborations.

Shaker said that reaching an agreement with Egypt’s primary provider of infrastructure services was an important step to provide the highest-speed internet services to Orange’s customers.
