MTN Transforms Mobile Internet Billing In Cameroon

MTN Cameroon, the leader of the country’s telecommunications market, has announced the rollout of a significant initiative in mobile Internet billing in Cameroon.

When the subscriber's Internet bundle is depleted, their main airtime account will not automatically be debited for continued browsing. The customer will now have the option to choose between browsing off-bundle, picking another bundle or renewing their bundle.

The restriction of out-of-bundle Internet billing has been gradually installed since the beginning of 2019. This change is a revolution in Cameroon’s telecommunications market. Above all, according to telecoms industry analysts, it will strengthen MTN Cameroon's commitment to better listen to its subscribers, be more transparent and offer them enough choice to control their expenses.

Hendrik Kasteel, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Cameroon, said that with efficient network and affordable internet, such an initiative would really improve the customer experience.

MTN Cameroon has also revealed that it will launch a smartphone accessible to all levels of society and a brand new 4G mobile modem.

Other initiatives are in preparation to deliver on Hendrik Kasteel's promise that 2019 would be the year of the great MTN Family. The year of MTN’s customers. The year of MTN’s partners.
