Sichone announced that the three Zambian TV stations that had been added by TopStar over the past week are Diamond TV, Fresh TV and Agribusiness News (ABN).

These channels have also been added onto the StarTimes ON App which offers video-on-demand and live streaming.
The app is designed to use less data when streaming.

Now, with smartphones and mobile internet access gaining popularity in Africa, more Africans are streaming videos on phones. StarTimes decided to embrace this era of the internet by pioneering its online video streaming service (OTT) with the “StarTimes ON” brand for its online business.

StarTimes ON will provide all the OTT service of the company, including VOD (videos on demand) live TV and short videos.
OTT has been one a top priority in StarTimes’ strategy, and enormous operation resources have been invested in it. StarTimes ON,  with DTH and DTT, will be the three main content distribution platforms of StarTimes.

With StarTimes ON, the Chinese based company aims to become the number one videos service provider in the African market.
