Ghanaian Multimedia Group Chosen As Official Media Partner For 3Music Awards

Ghana’s front-running private English speaking radio station, Joy FM and its two media affiliates– Hitz FM and Joy Prime– have been confirmed as official media partners for the revolutionary Ghanaian music awards show – the 3Music Awards.

The awards show was launched in March 2018 to celebrate achievements in the music and entertainment industry.

However, following a successful first edition, organisers have revealed that TV3- which aired the event in its first season- will no longer have these broadcasting rights for the show this year.
This was after The Multimedia Group ( who own Joy Prime television, Joy FM and Hitz FM) joined the production as the official media partner for the event’s second season.
Other media networks that will be sharing the broadcasting rights with The Multimedia Group for the 2019 3Music Awards are Adom TV, Adom FM, JoyNews TV, Luv FM, Nhyira FM and myjoyonline.com.

Contrary to popular opinion, however, TV3 only held the broadcasting rights in the capacity of official media partners for the awards’ 2018 edition, not as proprietors of the franchise.

Now, The Multimedia Group will take over all broadcasting rights for activities that are related to the event before, during and following the main awards night that has been scheduled for March 23, 2019, at the Fantasy Dome in Accra, Ghana.

The excitement around the event is already high as the organisers, 3Music, have confirmed improvements and changes in this year’s event.
This includes the introduction of unique voting mechanics for public voting which will account for 60% of the total votes, as well as 40% of Academy voting.

A reliable technical team made up of experts from the local music industry, and its contributors has been put together to analyse, screen and review all potential nominations.
This is to ensure that the cream of the crop in the Ghanaian entertainment receive the celebration and recognition that they deserve.

Nominations are scheduled to be unveiled at an announcement party that is to take place on January 27, 2019.
