Fox Debuts Virtual And Augmented Reality Unit

Fox has introduced a new division, FoxNet, to broadcast across 20th Century Fox Film and Fox Networks. It forms part of the organisation’s agenda for today’s next-generation entertainment experiences.

FoxNext will widen its goal to sustain all of 21st Century Fox’s business and will also collaborate with 21st Century Fox on film studio projects. The company’s first viable virtual reality (VR) venture The Martian Experience was produced by the Fox Innovation Lab. The new section will supervise the making of studio franchise VR experiences, such as Alien and Planet of the Apes series and also market Fox’s wide VR strategy. The development of the 20th Century Fox World theme park in Malaysia and the location-based entertainment unit is also part of this portfolio.

Salil Mehta, President, Content Management for Twentieth Century Fox Film will be heading the new unit.
