Kwesé iflix Wins Best Innovation In Digital Media At Africom

Africa’s leading digital entertainment platform, Kwesé iflix became the centre of attention at AfricaCom – the most significant media, telecoms and technology event in Africa – this year when it won Best Innovation in Digital Entertainment.

The awards were held to honour pioneering service providers and operators who are the front-runners for digital inclusion, digital development and connectivity in Africa.

Kwesé iflix is a mobile platform that offers exciting, youth-focused programming on video-on-demand and download-to-watch-later content.
It was born from a joint-venture between Kwesé, an African media company, and iflix, a leading emerging market mobile video-on-demand service.
Kwesé iflix has become Africa’s fastest growing mobile entertainment service, currently available in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia, Uganda, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, with operations further expanding to Botswana, Rwanda, Lesotho and Malawi.

The CEO of Kwesé iflix, Mayur Patel commented that Kwesé iflix is honoured to have been chosen as the Best Innovation in Digital Entertainment, especially among such a substantial list of industry players.
He added that innovation has become critical for survival and growth as the mobile streaming entertainment industry continues to evolve and that Kwesé iflix’s dedication to innovation enabled the brand to break free from the traditional VOD model and create a fresh localised entertainment service for customers in each of its African markets.
Patel said that the award was proof that his teams across Africa work hard and are dedicated to engaging the consumers in order to serve them better and ultimately, to revolutionise entertainment in Africa.

The event director of AfricaCom, Tom Cuthell said that AfricaCom continues to grow. He thanked all parties involved in putting the event together and declared his appreciation for their dedication in ensuring that Africa advances into the digital ecosphere.
