Netflix Launches Six New Animated Programmes
The list includes six new shows, which will join the other seven projects that had already been announced. This is the plan that Netflix has set into motion as the company prepares itself to compete with Disney’s upcoming OTT service.
The upcoming attractions announced include “My Father’s Dragon” (2021), a 2D animated family feature film directed by Nora Twomey; “Maya and the three” (2021), a limited animated series written, created and directed by Jorge Gutierrez; “Go! Go! Cory Carson” (2019), an exciting animated preschool series; “Kid Cosmic” (2020), a production by Craig McCracken (“The Powerpuff Girls”); “Trash Truck” (2020), is a series produced by Max Keane and “The Willoughbys” (2020), a CG animated feature film that is currently being produced by BRON Animation.
Other Netflix animated offerings that have been announced previously include “Klaus” (2019), “Jacob And The Sea Beast” (2020), “Mighty Little Bheem” (2019), “Over the Moon” (2020), “Motown Magic”, “Pinocchio” (2021), the animated feature film directorial debut of Oscar Award-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and “Wendell & Wild”.
According to the company, almost 60% of Netflix members on a global basis thoroughly enjoy kids and family content on a monthly basis.
Netflix’s current Vice President of Kids and Family, Melissa Cobb said that because Netflix is aware that the world has many different kinds of families, it makes a point of embracing all types of creators in an effort to tell unique and diverse stories that are relevant with each and every Netflix family.
