Senegal: Canal Plus Sport To Provide Live Screening of Boxing Gala

Vivendi Sports is expanding its reach in Africa. The group specialises in the creation and carrying out of sporting events and was previously responsible for organising a cycling race authorised by the Union Cycliste Internationale in Cameroon. Now Vivendi Sport will be partnering with Malamine Kone Event to showcase the World Championship IBO (International Boxing Organization) of lightweights at the CanalOlympia Téranga of Dakar in Senegal on October 20th.

This massive international boxing gala will feature boxers from Senegal, France, Congo, South Africa, Belarus, Cameroon, Algeria, Nigeria and Tunisia. It will mark the long-awaited return of international boxing in Africa. The evening of the boxing gala promises to be an exciting one, even the name of the event, JAB & VIBES, gives the idea that this is one boxing extravaganza you do not want to miss.

Viewers can look forward to watching Six fights. The the main attraction of the night will be a fight between the two greatest French lightweights for the IBO World Title, Franck Petitjean, the challenger for the European title super light weights and Mohammed Mimoune, the former European welterweight champion and current holder of the IBO belt since January.
There will also be fights for the African Lightweight Championship and the African Heavyweight Boxing Association (ABU) African Championship. Fights for titles in the super middleweight category have also been announced as part of the programme for the night.

This will be the first edition of “JAB & VIBES” and will combine a number of Vivendi entities as Vivendi Sports clearly intends to provide a diverse selection of entertainment at the gala. The boxing event will be accompanied by the musical performances of Universal Music Group artists such as Kiff No Beat, Nix and Sidiki Diabaté. Viewers can watch the gala live on the Canal Plus Group sports channels in Africa and France.
