SAFA Announces SABC Will No Longer Broadcast Bafana Games

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has announced that the upcoming Banyana Banyana international matches and the Bafana Bafana AFCON matches will not be broadcast on the SABC channels.

SAFA released a statement declaring that as matters currently stand, the SABC will not be broadcasting any of the upcoming Bafana Bafana or Banyana Banyana matches on any of their platforms. This comes after SAFA had opened discussions with the SABC as far back as October 2017 to negotiate a new contract on similar terms as their prior agreement.
According to SAFA, the SABC made an offer that left much to be desired, and that was far below expectation for international soccer matches to be played in the country; therefore, SAFA declined.

The Bafana matches in question are Seychelles vs Bafana Bafana, Bafana Bafana vs Seychelles and Bafana Bafana vs Nigeria.
