DStv To Put An End To Its Mobile TV service

MultiChoice has announced that on 31 October 2018 its DStv Mobile service will be ending. DStv Mobile TV was launched in 2010 allowing users to gain access to DStv on their phones, laptops, or tablets via a Drifta mobile decoder.

MultiChoice says that as technology has evolved and broadband access has continued to grow over the last few years, it is deemed no longer practical to continue to maintain a separate land-based, exclusive network for this service alone when a much better service can be offered to customers on DStv Now via Wi-Fi and the internet.

MultiChoice has informed customers who currently have a Mobile subscription that certain transmitters are already being switched off. This will most definitely impact reception for individual users.

As a result, users will now not be charged their subscription fee from 1 September 2018 and Decoder insurance on Mobile devices will also be cancelled because of this.
