South Africa: SABC Confirms It Will No Longer Broadcast Offer PSL Matches On Radio

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has said that, following its failure to reach a workable agreement with the South African Premier Soccer League, it will no longer be broadcasting any PSL matches 'Live' on any of its radio stations.

In a statement from the organisation, " the SABC is advising the South African public not to expect the broadcasting of any PSL football matches on any of its network of radio stations".

The decision was made after the inability of the PSL to reach a sensible negotiated broadcast rights with the SABC. The breakdown in the desired consensus has meant that the SABC was, therefore, unable to achieve a radio deal with the PSL.

The SABC, did, however, indicates that it would still broadcast PSL matches on its television platforms
