Nigeria: TStv To Launch Pay-As-You-Consume TV - Sets Up Competition With DStv
According to the company, the plan will allow their subscribers pay for only programmes they watch, with over 200 Tv channels including live Sports channels like English Premier League, La Liga and Champions League, provided in different languages of the West African region.
The managing director of TSTV, Bright Echefu is optimistic that subscribers would be provided high-quality video, radio and internet services at a cheaper rate, with no monthly or periodic subscription required.
TSTV platform, based on the HBB TV technology, will be the first in Nigeria with a 'pay-as-you-use' system which gives subscribers full control over the cost of their content consumption. The pilot launches will start in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Owerri and Kano all in Nigeria.
