Nigeria: National Police Force To Launch The "Nigerian Police Broadcasting Service"

According to industry news report from Nigeria, the Nigerian national police service is finalising arrangements to launch a dedicated broadcasting operation, which, if the report is correct, will start broadcasting on the 28 of November 2017.

A statement attributed to the Force's chairperson, Ediri Jerry Wesley, the Nigeria police service will be focusing the broadcasting service on the platform of Television, radio, online and emergency control services. The project will be conducted on a public-private partnership basis.

It is believed that the Nigerian Police Broadcasting Service, amongst other objectives, will help fight the spate of insecurity that currently exists in Nigeria.

The police broadcasting outfit hope to survive through sponsorship funding received from organisations and individuals and would not seek to, nor broadcast any commercial advertising on its platform.

Transmission is expected to be done in Pidgin English and other Nigerian languages
