Angola Cables To Boost Broadband With Launch Of South Atlantic Cable System (SACS)

Angola Cable has announced that it is about to complete the South Atlantic Cable System (SACS) - a subsea cable system that is due to add more than 40 Tbps capacity to the cable connectivity infrastructure in Africa. SACS is designed to carry traffic primarily between Africa and South America.

According to the CEO of Angola Cables, Mr António Nunes, the SACS project is a strategic one for the region to improve data and communications services and also drive its digital economy.

He also affirms that speed of connectivity that the system would allow will enable media organisations in Angola and the surrounding countries to fast track access and sharing of content in a way that has been hitherto unprecedented. The SACS network, will be complete with first-rate data centers and Internet Exchange Points.
