South Africa Records A Boost In Demand For Digital Set-Top-Boxes

The South African government has reported a high demand for its subsidised set-top-boxes seen through surging registrations across the country.

Information from the Department of Communications (DOC) shows that 11,709 households registered for decoders in January 2017 increasing to 36,042 in February 2017 (last month).

The DOC and South Africa Post Office have actively helped to increase registrations through various awareness campaigns.

According to the DOC, this upsurge in the take up for government-funded set-top-boxes is a good indication that the digital migration is succeeding.
