SENTECH
SENTECH is the premier provider of electronic communications network services in the broad­casting and communications industry. SENTECH is licensed to provide Electronic Communications Network Services (ECNS) and Electronic Communications Services (ECS) services.
 
As a key industry player in telecom­munications and multimedia markets, SENTECH enables broadcasting and digital content services to corporate institutions, government departments and state-owned entities.
 
SENTECH operates approximately 330 terrestrial broadcast sites and a satellite platform to provide signal distribution services for television and radio. SENTECH has infrastructure that provides up linking and down linking of programmes via satellite and can be used for bi-directional communications as well as for DTH (direct to home) broadcasts. Our masts at high-sites are used for the broadcast of television and radio to the public. These facilities are also utilised by other telecommunications services providers such as cellular phone opera­tors, wireless internet service providers, government entities and private telecom­munications companies.
 
The Company has expanded its foot­print to clients in sub-Saharan Africa to provide broadcasting managed services such as Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) solutions, Digital Radio (DAB+), training and consultancy services. SENTECH offers a wide range of services designed to meet the needs of broadcast and tel­ecoms operators across the continent.
 
 
SENTECH core business is fragmented into three categories namely: 

Content and Multimedia Services
This covers broadcasting signal distribution services including business television delivered via satellite. There are other value-added services that form part of this service such as OTT, broadcast monitoring and syndication and Hybrid Broadcasting (e.g. HbbTV andHybrid Radio)

Infrastructure Management
With vast experience in managing different types of networks from broadcasting to telecommunications, SENTECH has built up a strong capability in network design, deployment, operation and maintenance.

Connectivity Services
SENTECH has positioned itself to play a significant role in the implementation of SA Connect and servicing government in wireless broadband services. The organisation will be involved in wireless broadband services in support of SOC-nominated beneficiaries that will lead the broadband rollout.

The Southern Africa Broadcasting Association (SABA) is a membership-based association representing public broadcasters and other broadcasters across the SADC region. It was established in 1993.

Its overriding goal is to ensure a seamless transition to digital television and to regenerate the quality of the SADC region’s television content production and professional management capacity.

SABA is an implementing agency of the Southern Africa Development Community-SADC, recognised by the SADC council of Ministers in ICT and Broadcasting with the mandate involving the development of broadcasting and media matters in in the SADC region.
